Managing Editor Jessica Loeding took the top award in the investigative reporting category for the newspaper's division. The winning article was "Bartow County at 100,000: 'Magic number' brings change" from the March 27, 2011, edition.
Awards were handed out July 7 at the Better Newspaper Contest Banquet at Sandestin Golf & Beach Resort in Miramar Beach, Fla.
Loeding holds a publication management degree from the University of Georgia. She joined The Daily Tribune News in 2006 and was named managing editor in July 2010. She and her husband, Matt, have one son, Luke, and reside in Fairmount.
