Mr. Harold "Buddy" Davis, 77, of Taylorsville passed away Tuesday, July 24, 2012.

Mr. Davis was born on Oct. 20, 1934, in the Davis Town Community of Taylorsville, son of the late Fred Rhodes Davis and the late Clara Sproull Harris Davis. He was a veteran of the United States Army and was a retired carpenter. Mr. Davis was a member and deacon of the Floyd Creek Baptist Church where he served as Sunday school superintendent and Sunday school teacher.

Survivors include his wife, Bobbie Wilson Davis, to whom he married July 4, 1957; two sons, Kenneth Ross Davis and his wife, Toni, and Richard "Rick" Davis and his wife, B.J.; two grandchildren, Joseph Frederick Davis and Ross William Davis; and two sisters, Nancy Richards and Sarah Evans, all of Taylorsville.

Funeral services for Mr. Davis will be held on Friday, July 27, at 2 p.m. in the Floyd Creek Baptist Church with the Revs. Roger Fisher and Tommy Harris officiating. Interment services will follow in the family lot of the church cemetery with the Rev. Charlie Timms officiating.

The following nephews have been asked to serve as pallbearers: Bill Hunt, Jimmy Wilson Jr., Terry Hardin, Allen Evans, Harvey Evans and Scott Garrett.

Deacons of Floyd Creek Baptist Church will serve as honorary pallbearers.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, July 26, between the hours of 6 and 9 p.m.
