Scheduled for Oct. 26-28, the three-day event will see some changes from past festivals.
“This year’s festival will differ from previous years. Formerly known as the Euharlee Chili Cook-Off and Fall Festival, the Covered Bridge Fall Festival has been expanded to a three-day event allowing for increased community participation,” said festival coordinator Samantha Berry. “This year, the Historic Euharlee Ghost Walk sponsored by the Euharlee Historical Society and Johnny Mitchell’s Smokehouse will take place on Friday and Saturday night, followed by headline concerts, concessions and beverage vendors at Frankie Harris Park.”
Also new this year is a 5K through Euharlee on Saturday morning. Arts and crafts vendors, along with fall- and Halloween-inspired activities for children and adults will be featured on Saturday and Sunday. Performances and live entertainment are scheduled throughout the weekend showcasing talent from local schools and the community.
“We’re actively seeking sponsors for a backyard chili cook-off competition and children’s costume contest,” Berry said.
The weekend festival will take place at Frankie Harris Park from 6 to 10 p.m. Friday; 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday with registration for the 5K from 7 to 8 a.m. and the race beginning at 8; and 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday.
“Frankie Harris Park is a such a beautiful venue with significant acreage able to accommodate a large scale event supporting multiple vendors, activities and live entertainment. Extending the festival over three days gives residents and visitors more flexibility in attending the festival and provides greater financial impact for the community in general,” said Euharlee City Manager Trish Sullivan in a press release.
“I’m thrilled with the creative activities and ideas being brought forth by the community,” Berry said.
Anyone interested in participating in the festival should contact Samantha Berry, festival coordinator at firstname.lastname@example.org or visit the Euharlee website to download a vendor application.
