Having eight starters returning on a high school softball team is a good thing.

But the key to whether Cass High can dramatically improve its regular season fortunes this season, its coach believes, lies in how well the Lady Colonels keep their opponents from scoring.

Cass is looking to rebound from a season in which they went 9-20 overall and 1-7 in their region.
