A Cartersville man missing while on a family vacation in Myrtle Beach, S.C., has yet to be located, according to family members Saturday.

Johnny Lamar Brown, 44, has been missing since Aug. 3. At the time of his disappearance he was wearing khaki shorts, a green and white striped shirt, black socks and flip flop/slides.

Brown is approximately 5’ 6’’ tall, weighing approximately 146 pounds and of medium build. He is African-American with dark brown eyes and black closely cropped hair. He has a severe speech impediment and is difficult to understand according to the family. Flyers seeking information about him have been distributed throughout the greater Myrtle Beach area.

According to his sister Julie Adams, searches have expanded from Myrtle Beach to Surfside City and Georgetown and Horry County with local police and sheriff departments working along with a team of about eight family members.

She said when last seen by anyone, he indicated to them that he was from Cartersville. She believes he might be trying to make his way back home.

Anyone with any information is asked to contact Adams at 404-576-6306.
