“It was a track meet out there tonight,” said Villa Rica coach Mike Falleur after congratulating Woodland’s coaching staff at midfield. “Nobody could stop each other. We were very fortunate to win it.”
The track meet that Falleur referred to started at 5:49 of the first quarter and did not end until 4:10 of the fourth quarter.
In the first quarter alone, the two teams combined for 28 points in a span of 1:59.
Woodland’s Quadre Allen started the scoring outburst at 5:49 with his 3-yard touchdown run, which was quickly followed by a 1-yard touchdown run by Villa Rica’s Quantavious Cousin.
Allen then dashed 100 yards in 12 seconds after gathering in the football at the goal line on the ensuing kickoff. It was 13-8 Woodland at 3:59. It was 3:48 when Villa Rica’s Maurice McGuire gave Villa Rica a 15-13 lead on his 65-yard kickoff return.
