Bartow County Sheriff's Office deputies have arrested a Cartersville woman on charges of false statements and writings after she allegedly lied about an incident involving a deputy.

According to a BCSO release, Cheryl Alisha Graves, 26, of 402 E. Church St., Room 115, was arrested this morning on three felony counts of false statements and writings.

Graves reported to officials she was sexually assaulted by a deputy during a traffic stop near Euharlee on Tuesday morning. An internal affairs investigation led officers to believe Graves fabricated her claims about the incident, which led to her arrest, the release said.

Graves is being held in the Bartow County Jail pending a $7,500 bond.
