A group of juveniles robbed a home on Red Oak Drive off of New Hope Church Road in Acworth Friday morning around 11 a.m., according to the Bartow County Sheriff’s Office.

While the exact number of juveniles, and their gender, is unknown, a neighbor reported that the group was attempting to steal a number of firearms and other items from the residence.

The same neighbor also confronted the suspects as they were leaving the residence, which caused them to flee into a nearby wooded area. When BCSO deputies arrived on the scene they found the firearms abandoned in the wooded area. Any other potentially stolen items were not located.

No arrests have been made and no suspects have been identified. BCSO is asking anyone with information about the incident to call 770-382-5050 extension 6029.

Man assaulted near Mission Road

A BCSO deputy responded to a robbery Thursday night in the area of Harrison Road at Mission Road. After arriving at the scene, the deputy saw the victim laying in the grass on the right side of the road.

The victim said he had been walking down the road when he was attacked by two unknown black men. According to the incident report, he said they were driving a gold colored vehicle, but he could not identify the make or model.

The suspects allegedly punched him in the torso and kicked him in the face before taking the $30 he had in his wallet. The suspect also said he did not know the suspects.

As the victim was complaining of pain in his torso, he was transported to Cartersville Medical Center.

Although the deputy searched the area of Harrison Road all the way to Euharlee Road, the gold vehicle was not located. No suspects have been identified.
