Rev. Frank Young, 82, of Garrison Drive, Cartersville, passed away Friday, Dec. 7, 2012.

Rev. Young was born March 13, 1930, in Bartow County, the son of the late Charles and Mamie Young, and was a member of Northside Methodist Church. Rev. Young was the minister at Peeples Valley Community Church, Best Chapel and Northside Methodist and had a radio ministry for 35 years.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, Homer, Eugene (Gene), Harley, Fred and Robert.

Surviving is his wife, Evelyn Russell Young; two sons, Darrell (Sherry) Young and Danny (Angela) Young; grandchildren, Lanita and Nathan Wilkey, Darren Young, Andrew Young and Alyse Young; great-grandchildren, Lucas Wilkey, Aden Wilkey and Rylan Wilkey; a sister, Bonnie Taylor; brothers, Earl Dean Young, Roy D. Young and Harvey Young; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, Dec. 9, at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Owen Funeral Home with Rev. James Parham and Rev. James Bennett officiating.

Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday evening from 6 to 8 p.m.

Nephews will serve as pallbearers.
