Katie P. Wyatt, 85, of McDonough, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2012.

Mrs. Wyatt was born April 8, 1927, in Bartow County, a daughter of the late Luther and Lilly Wade.

Katie was a self-employed entrepreneur and spent most of her career owning a cleaning and painting business. She loved dancing and gardening. Spending quality time with her family and grandchildren brought her the most joy.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Hugh Wyatt; daughter, Patsy McCall; brothers, Junior and James Wade; sisters, Joyce Mathis, Margie Barett and Eva Maxwell.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Tom and Linda Wyatt of McDonough; grandchildren, Lee and Tracy Hernandez of Griffin, Debora and William Miller of Buchanan, Betty McCall and fiancé Walter Thrailkill of Cartersville, Michael McCall of Adairsville, Kim Jones of Locust Grove, and Michael Wyatt of McDonough; 25 great-grandchildren; great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Ann Smith and her husband Donald, and Betty Sligh, all of Cartersville; and two brothers, LM Wade and his wife Mary, and Melbourne Wade, all of Cartersville.

Graveside services will be held 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 14, at Oak Hill Cemetery, Cartersville, with the Rev. Bill Brannon officiating.

Serving as pallbearers will be Michael Wyatt, Keith Devane, Kevin Devane, Lee Hernandez, Josh Jones and Michael McCall.

The family will receive friends at Owen Funeral Home, Cartersville, from 5 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 13.
