“It will probably be Saturday, but we won’t know who we play until sometime next week,” said a despondent coach Jon-Michael Nickerson, whose Eagles are in the state playoffs, but are out of the running for the region championship after playing subpar basketball for the second straight game.
Excel, known for its exciting brand of basketball during the regular season where they went 24-1, struggled in its win over Mount Pisgah Thursday and throughout their loss to the Knights (20-8) Friday.
“We were lucky in our first game, but not so lucky in our second postseason game,” Nickerson
