Euharlee Road victim in serious but stable condition

According to a Euharlee Police Department press release, on Wednesday at 4 p.m. the Euharlee Police Department, EMS and Bartow County Fire Department were dispatched to the Dollar General on Euharlee Road in reference to a 12-year-old male being struck by a vehicle.

Upon arriving on scene, there was a 12-year-old male in the roadway with visible injuries.

According to a witness, the male exited the bus then went to the mailbox across the street. He retrieved the mail, then darted back across Euharlee Road and was allegedly struck by the vehicle as he crossed the road.

He was airlifted to Scottish Rite Medical Center and, while in flight, diverted to the Egleston Children’s Hospital where he was taken directly into surgery.

The juvenile is now out of surgery and in serious but stable condition at Egleston Children’s Hospital.
