Adairsville should learn a lot about its tennis team this week after the Tigers play three region opponents, including traditional power Cartersville.

Adairsville has a 3-2 record on the season but two of those losses are against Coahulla Creek, who Tigers coach George Nelson believes is one of the better teams in the region.

The Tigers have defeated Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe, Sonoraville and Gordon Central.

Monday they tangle with LFO again, then visit Ringgold on Tuesday and conclude their week with Cartersville on Thursday.

Nelson said his Tigers acquitted themselves well against Coahulla Creek although they didn’t get the wins they wanted.

“Coahulla Creek is probably the second best team in our region,” he said. “We lost to them, but I feel we could easily have gotten a win.”

He believes Cartersville, which is undefeated in the region, is atop the region for a reason.

“It look likes Cartersville is the class of the league, but after that we feel pretty good about ourselves,” he said.
