Woodland beats Rome, 8-2, under the lights

Woodland’s baseball team proved that you don’t have to be a football team to win under the lights on a Friday night.

In a game that began under bright blue skies and ended with stadium lights illuminating Woodland’s home field, coach Corey Gochee was most impressed by the Wildcats’ aggressive style of play they displayed in their 8-2 Region 5-AAAAA victory over Rome.

Carrollton 4, Adairsville 1

Tristin Smith had three of Adairsville’s seven hits, but his efforts alone could not prevent the Tigers from losing to Carrollton, 4-1, on the road Friday night.
