Hayes Linn allowed one hit and struck out eight batters to lead Cartersville over Ringgold 4-2 in high school baseball play on Thursday.

That lead held until the fourth inning when Austin Adams hit a two-run shot to thrust the Canes into the lead at 2-1.

JoJo Underwood gave the Canes an insurance run with a solo shot in the sixth. Mark Quattlebaum scored the Canes’ final run in the fifth inning.

Ringgold scored its final run in the sixth inning, closing the issue to 4-2.
