According to Rhonda Poore, there are very few places in Cartersville for people to exhibit their talents and display their crafts. This inspired her and her two sons, E.J. and Brian Poore, to found the Konfidence Klub, a place where people can enjoy live entertainment and gather with others to share their interests and abilities.

Poore hopes the club will be become a meeting place to encourage community-minded activities that will inspire people to display their creative potential.

On Saturday the Konfidence Klub had its first event; a talent show to showcase Bartow’s artisans, dancers and singers. “Everyone is welcome to come and be supported, encouraged and entertained,” said Poore.

One attendee of the talent show was Lonnie Meadows, a poet and songwriter who recently co-wrote a song titled “Lonesome Cowboy” with the band Alias, Smith and Jones. Meadows said he began writing poetry and songs after he was in a car accident in 1998 that required him to have several surgeries. Following the surgeries, he was unable to draw so he turned to writing. It has been a great outlet for him and Meadows says he believes others would benefit from pursuing artistic avenues.

The talent show was held at the Atco Clubhouse and other events will be planned according to the success of the talent show.
