Bartow County, Dunwoody and U.S. authorities on Wednesday arrested five people on drug and gun charges.

Bartow-Cartersville Drug Task Force Commander Capt. Mark Mayton said his agency, along with Bartow County Sheriff's Office and Georgia State Patrol officers, assisted the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force and investigators from Dunwoody Police Department in locating a subject who was wanted in connection with a shooting that occurred within their jurisdiction.

Anthony Eugene Thompson was arrested and charged with aggravated assault. Officers also located Michael Duane Williams who was wanted for probation violation in College Park.

During the investigation, which resulted in a search warrant execution at a hotel in Cartersville, officers also located a large amount of drugs — approximately 11 pounds of marijuana, more than 3 ounces of cocaine, two firearms and $2,402 in cash.

Three additional subjects, William Christopher Gamble, Pamela Yvette Maxwell and Terrence Jerome Thompson, were arrested in conjunction with the other two subjects for the drugs and weapons that were located.
