3 Colonels medal at Carrollton Orthopedic Invitational

The Cass High cross country team competed in the Carrollton Orthopedic Invitational on Saturday and had three runners medal, including Jana Morning in third place, Jaison Morning in ninth place and Savannah Hardin in 13th place.

The team finished 10th in the 4A/5A regions. The girls took sixth place while the boys took 10th place out of 15 teams and 134 runners in the event.

Jaison Morning was the top finisher for the Cass boys, earning a medal with a time of 18.02.96. Jordan Morning claimed 29th place with a time of 18:57.45 Logan Sorenson came in at 19:47.60 taking 52nd, while Seth Wood followed with 20:08.57 for 66th.

For the girls, Freshman Jana Morning finished in third place with a time of 21:26.54 and finished just a second behind the second place finisher. Savannah Hardin finished with a time of 23:23.38, good enough for 13th place. Esmerelda Thomas came in at a time of 25:27.05 to take 57th. Stephane Robledo came in 59th at a time of 25:34.29 and Payton Rogers came in 61st at 25:38.95.

The team will resume competitionThursday at the 22nd Annual Ridge Ferry Invitational in Rome.
