A Rockmart man was killed Monday evening when his vehicle left the roadway near the Bartow-Paulding County line.

Around 6 p.m. Howard Mark Streetman, 47, was traveling south on Ga. Highway 61 at Hatfield Road when his vehicle left the road in a curve, according to Georgia State Patrol Public Information Officer Gordy Wright.

The 2002 Dodge Dakota pickup “traveled down an embankment and struck a tree with the right side and top of the vehicle,” Wright said.

Bartow County Fire Department worked to extricate Streetman who was entrapped.

Streetman, who was not wearing a seatbelt, died in the crash.

Wright said blood was drawn for testing.
