The GHSA released region alignments Tuesday, effective from the fall 2014 to spring 2016 athletic seasons, and each of the four Bartow County high schools will see major changes to their respective regions.

Woodland and Cass are now both in Region 5-AAAAA, sub-region A.

The rest of the sub-region consists of Allatoona, Dalton and Rome.

The region also consists of East Paulding, Hiram, Paulding County, South Paulding and Villa Rica, all in sub-region B.

Cartersville moves into Region 7-AAAA.

The region is made up of Gilmer; Heritage, Catoosa; LaFayette; Northwest Whitfield; Pickens; Ridgeland; and Southeast Whitfield.

Although Adairsville stays in Region 5-AAA, the Tigers athletic programs will face several different schools in the region.

Adairsville will be placed in sub-region B along with Cedartown, Pepperell and Rockmart.

Sub-region A in Region 5-AAA is made up of: Callaway; Central, Carol; and Haralson County, along with newly proposed school, Meriwether County, which would consolidate Manchester and Greenville.
