Calls to WellStar Kennestone Regional Medical Center did not shed any light on Green’s condition, as he is possibly under a “no info” listing, according to a hospital employee. When a patient is under the no info listing their name does not appear in a search, and therefore, no information is available.
About 12:35 p.m. Tuesday, according to the BCSO incident report, Green entered the foyer area and, without a word, began slashing at his neck with a cutting instrument in his right hand while he pulled at his shirt collar with his left hand. The reporting deputy told Green to put the weapon down. The deputy also “observed what appeared to be blood spewing from his neck area,” the report states.
Deputies working security at the courthouse told Green to drop the cutting instrument, which was later identified as a mini meat cleaver. Green reportedly attempted to flee the area and refused to drop the cleaver. Deputies warned Green before tasing him, which “halted any other harmful acts,” according to the report.
Green was secured and first aid was administered. Bartow County Emergency Medical Services was contacted and provided further aid when they arrived on scene. Green was then transported to Kennestone.
