Three men arrested Saturday on federal charges will make their first court appearance today.

Federal Bureau of Investigation Atlanta Field Division Special Agent Stephen Emmett said Terry Eugene Peace, 45; Brian Edward Cannon, 36; and Cory Williamson, 28, should make an initial appearance in U.S. Magistrate Court in Rome today. A time was not available Monday.

Emmett said additional information could be disclosed during the appearance.

Agents and personnel with the Bartow-Cartersville Drug Task Force, Atlanta Federal Bureau of Investigation Field Division, Floyd County Police Department, Polk County Police Department and Bartow County Sheriff’s Office converged on the suspects — all of Rome — near the intersection of Marketplace Boulevard and State Route 20.

According to a DTF press release, the three individuals were arrested on federal firearms and explosives-related charges. In a joint operation in neighboring Floyd County, authorities executed a federal search warrant, arresting the suspects related to that warrant in Bartow.

DTF Commander Capt. Mark Mayton said over the weekend that the search warrant and arrests were the result of a case initiated by the FBI, and all agencies continue to actively work the case.

The federal search warrant is ongoing, with more charges anticipated.

The three men were booked into the Bartow County Jail on Saturday by DTF agents, pending federal and potential local state charges.

Both Mayton and Emmett declined to comment further.
