Crackers top Colts in LL play

The Crackers defeated the Colts in a 15-12 slugfest in Cartersville Little League baseball play March 15.

Charlie Heidmann and Titus Jones led the Crackers at the plate. Heidman had three hits with a double, four runs and two RBIs, while Jones had two hits with a double, a triple, a base on balls, three runs and two RBIs. TJ Jackson also had two hits with two runs, and Jayen Adkins added one hit with a base on balls.

Caz Smith led the Colts with three hits and four runs. Kaison Williams had two hits with a double, a triple and three RBIs; Alex Freeman had two hits with a double and three runs; and Trevor Montgomery had one hit with a base on ball, two runs and two RBIs.

Josh Nolan and Titus Jones each pitched three innings for the Crackers. Nolan had 66 pitches with six strikeouts, while Jones threw 51 pitches and netted four strikeouts.

For the Colts, Kaison Williams pitched 1 2/3 innings and delivered 46 pitches with five strikeouts; Logan Cagle, 1 1/3 innings and 27 pitches with two strikeouts; Ethan Wolfe, 2 1/3 innings and 52 pitches with four strikeouts; and Trevor Montgomery, 2/3 innings and nine pitches with one strikeout.

Also contributing offensively for the Crackers were Jackson Norris, a base on balls, two runs and two RBIs; Christian Gardner, two bases on balls and two runs; Lane Hutson, hit by pitch, one run; Josh Nolan, a base on ball and an RBI; Jalen Thomas, a base on balls and a run.

Others contributing offensively for the Colts were Patrick Shelley, one hit; Tate Smith, a base on balls and a run; Logan Cagle, a base on balls, hit by pitch and a run; Ethan Wolfe, a base on balls and a run; Jonah Gambill, hit by pitch; Mason Brown, base on balls; Chase Barger, base on balls.
