Perfect Game USA announced its annual Perfect Game Preseason All-American and All-Region Teams on March 11 to recognize the top high school baseball athletes in the U.S.

Six Bartow County players were selected as honorable mentions, including Cartersville’s Hunter Osborn, Garrett Rutledge and Destin Herron, Cass’ Noah Sims and Brandon Etheridge, and Woodland’s Mason Robinson.

Osborn is a right-handed starting pitcher for Cartersville and is coming off a complete game, two-hit and nine-strikeout shutout of region rival Ringgold Thursday.

In his last four outings, Osborn has pitched 19 innings, recorded 29 strikeouts, allowed two hits and has given up just one unearned run.

Herron, an infielder and pitcher, has played well in Cartersville’s 4-0 region start. He is 5 for 12 with three RBIs and two walks in region play so far. On the mound, Herron has pitched 8 1/3 innings, allowed six hits, four walks, one unearned run and struck out nine in two region games.

Rutledge, also an infielder and pitcher, is 1-1 with a 2.94 earned run average, 41 strikeouts and possesses a .145 batting average against.

For Cass, Noah Sims has pitched in eight games, 21 1/3 innings, and has struck out 28 batters. He has a 3.28 ERA.

Woodland’s Robinson is struggling in region play but hit .278 in the non-region portion of the schedule. He hit .419 a season ago with a home run, 15 RBIs and 30 runs scored.
