Montgomery has big day for GC

Colton Montgomery, a 2010 Cartersville graduate, had a big game for NCAA Division II Georgia College Sunday.

Montgomery went 2-for-2 with two runs and an RBI in the Bobcats’ 8-6 victory over Young Harris.

Montgomery helped the Cartersville baseball team win back-to-back AAA state championships in 2008 and 2009.

During his senior season in 2010, Montgomery batted .303 with seven home runs, 31 RBIs and a .625 slugging percentage.

Georgia College is currently 16-8 and in third place in the Peach Belt Conference standings

Montgomery is a junior outfielder for the Bobcats and has a .409 on-base percentage this season to go along with four runs scored, three RBIs and a stolen base on the season.
