Carson attended the police academy at Floyd College, now Georgia Highlands College, and is the owner of KC’s
Appliances and the Professional Private Security Group, both based in Adairsville.
Carson said in an earlier interview with The Daily Tribune News that he decided to run for mayor because he owns businesses and has lived a great portion of his life in Adairsville. He said his priorities would include strengthening the police department, addressing infrastructure needs and encouraging smart growth management.
Of the 477 votes cast, Carson received 256 votes, while Adena Harper received 161 and Ronnie Everett received 59.
After the results have been certified, Carson will be sworn in at the next city council work session on Tuesday, June 10, at 7 p.m. at the Adairsville Depot.
