An irate man threatened to gut his brother like a fish Thursday night.

When the victim and his wife returned to their Vigilant Street residence after going to dinner, they found Donald Oliver slamming drawers and “fussing” inside the house, according to the Cartersville police incident report. The victim said he asked his brother not to break anything because they are renting the house and do not own it. Oliver reportedly became irate and began cussing at the victim.

At some point, Oliver allegedly grabbed a steak knife and told the victim, “I will gut you like a fish.”

The victim asked his wife to call 911. While speaking with Cartersville police, the wife confirmed her husband’s account. She said they left the house until police arrived on scene.

Oliver was arrested and charged with terroristic threats under the Family Violence Act. He was later transported to the Bartow County Jail without incident.

When one woman arrived home Thursday night, she found her pickup truck on blocks with the wheels and tires removed.

The complaintant said she came home to her Ryan Road residence and saw that her mother’s 2003 Ford Super Duty pickup was sitting on blocks with the wheels and tires missing. The driver’s side door handle also appeared to be damaged and the suspect seemed to have gone through the interior as well. The diesel programmer also was missing, according to the report.

The wheels were described as 16-inch Motos and the tires were all-terrain mud tires. The victim said the neighbors did not see anyone else at the residence.
