It took the Lady Tigers three sets to defeat the Lady Blue Devils as they won the first one 25-20, fell 17-25 in the second and came back in the final, 25-12.
Adairsville had an easy time in its first set against the Lady Yellow Jackets, winning 25-13, but narrowly defeated their hosts in the final match, 26-24.
“We were lucky to get out of there with that win. We had to really work at it to pick up both victories,” Adairsville head coach David Adams said. “Several of our girls stepped up for us and we had really good defensive play all night. It was a total team effort on the part of our defense.”
He said Amber Litteral, Sydney Sumners and Chloe Powers provided strong leadership offensively.
“Amber had an outstanding night, six aces, 21 kills, three digs and two blocks,” Adams said. “Sydney led us in aces, with eight. She also had 10 kills and seven digs.
“Both our setters had good nights.”
Adairsville improved to 5-1 overall with the victory.
The Lady Tigers next play on Thursday against LaFayette. The following week they begin region play.
