Two people injured in a Tuesday evening crash succumbed to injuries Wednesday.

Georgia State Patrol Public Information Officer Tracey Watson said at 5:15 p.m. Tuesday Ronald Harris, 46, of Cartersville was mowing southbound along the west shoulder of Cassville Road. A car driven by Dian Redding, 64, of Cartersville was traveling south on Cassville Road when the vehicle traveled over the white line and off the west shoulder, striking the mower. Harris was ejected from the mower.

After impact, Watson said, Redding exited the vehicle, but the car continued to roll forward. She was struck by part of the driver’s side door before it struck a tree.

Redding was airlifted to Grady Hospital and Harris was airlifted to Atlanta Medical Center

Both victims passed away Wednesday morning.
