The Tigers have to wait until later on today for an opportunity to hand the Braves their first loss of the postseason following a weather delay in Wednesday night's Cartersville Little League championship game.

With the Tigers leading 7-3 in the bottom of the fourth inning, lightning sent the crowd toward their cars as ominous clouds loomed ahead.

Play will resume at 6 p.m. today at Rudy York Field. Should the Tigers hold on for the win, a second game would be played for the title.

Tigers' pitcher Bret Phinney gave up one earned run on one hit and seven walks with five strikeouts in three innings.

Braves' hurler Hayden Siniard gave up two earned runs on four hits and two walks with six strikeouts in four innings.

Siniard also had an RBI single for the Braves.

Parker Tidwell (two hits), Braden Meadows and Tate Mathis had hits for the Tigers, including Mathis' two-run single, which gave his team its first lead of the game -- 5-2 -- after an error by the Braves allowed another run to come in.
