The upcoming mid-term elections in November provide American voters the opportunity to make some of the most important choices of their lifetime. Choices that can, and will, affect the security, freedom and lifestyle of generations to come. The right decisions at the polls can help change the directions this country is headed and foster the process of repairing damage to our country brought about by misguided leadership, incompetence, deficit spending, personal greed and corruption.
Change under the current administration in Washington has "gone too far!" Barack Hussein Obama stated clearly in his campaign that he wanted to change the fundamentals upon which the United States was built. He didn't lie. We are experiencing what he promised. It seems as if his idea of change is to bankrupt America and replace our present form of government and economic system with socialism. One point in The Change Chief's favor is that his actions and behavior have awakened conservative and moderate thinking Americans. Voters in states such as Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Pennsylvania, Utah and West Virginia have already shown their discontent with the disastrous route Barack Hussein Obama is taking with the support of Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid.
One couldn't ask for a better stimulus to motivate disenchanted voters than the Obama/Pelosi/Reid package. Negative legislation destined to destroy our republic must be recognized and stopped. Legislators who support the radical agenda of the current administration must be voted out of office in spite of "party loyalty." We must support and elect individuals that believe in our constitution, the rule of law, national security, personal freedom and the sanctity of life. We must choose representatives who listen to and respect their constituents' ethical and moral values.
It's been said, and a multitude of lobbyists can attest to that, that we have the best legislatures money can buy. We can't argue with that, but what we need is representatives at every level that can't be bought. Voters must be diligent to end this attempt to turn America into a socialist Mecca.
The growing Tea Party movement, led by activists who have been labeled everything but Patriots by the opposition, provides a viable platform for here-to-fore silent conservatives to unite and be recognized. The movement provides a common ground for rallying voters throughout the nation. The goal is to solidify support for elected representatives that favor issues such as:
* Limited government as defined by the Constitution;
* Balanced budget/fiscal accountability/lower taxes;
* Strong national defense;
* Respect for all human life;
* Recognition of states rights.
In an effort to build a strong grassroots campaign in the same vein as the national movement, a Tea Party rally will be held [Saturday} June 19th, 6 p.m. at the Dellinger Park picnic area. This will be a peaceful non-partisan event to provide an opportunity for concerned citizens to express their frustration with the state of the American political environment and to unite voters with similar values and concerns.
We need competent leadership in all parties that will work to maintain our status as a world leader and will not apologize for being a strong and free nation. Leaders that recognize terrorists for what they are, and respect our allies as friends of the United States. To elect the caliber legislators Americans deserve will take the involvement and support of every conservative voter.
Grassroots rallies are one of the means to this end. Everyone who believes in this country, in our Constitution, and in the freedom for which thousands of our countrymen have fought and died, is urged to attend the June 19 rally. Do not lend credibility to the mislabeling, name calling attempts by some of the media and politicians to discredit the Tea Party Movement. Concerned voter can show their support for the movement by their involvement and attendance.
This must not be the generation that fails our children and future generations by letting misguided, radical leaders destroy the very soul of this country. Our current administration has definitely gone too far. The November elections provide the opportunity to get our government on the right path leading up to a 2012 White House purge. The right choices can help make the right changes.
