He was preceded in death by a son, Alton Martin Summey, and brothers, J.L. and James Summey.
Mr. Summey was retired from General Motors with 25 years service. He was a member of Euharlee Masonic Lodge # 457 F. & A.M. and was active in many other Lodges. He was a member of First Congregational Methodist Church. He was known as the produce man in Kennesaw, Marietta Square and Bartow County Courthouse.
Surviving are his wife of 52 years, Margaret Summey; daughter, Terre Summey; a grandson, Trevor Summey; a special daughter, Joette Pasada; sister-in-law, Lynn and John Jenkins; brothers and spouses, Edward (Red) and Anne Summey, Willard and Gladys Summey, Glen and Ruth Summey, Larry and Margaret Summey; a sister and spouse, Bernice Parr and Bob Lewis; a number of nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday morning, June 19, at 11 a.m. in the Owen Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Nathan Sanders and Rev. Charles Moore officiating. Burial will follow in Providence Cemetery with full Masonic graveside rites.
The family will receive friends Friday evening from 5 to 8 p.m. at Owen Funeral Home.
Pallbearers include Greg Jenkins, Kenneth Chitwood, Rodney Martin, Charles Summey, Preston Matthews and T.J. Eaves.
