Born in Bartow County, July 23, 1939, she was the daughter of the late Albert Roland and the late Annie Bell Freeman Roland. She is also preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James Daniel Slagle; a grandchild, Billy Joe Tant III; her sisters, Jeanelle Hall and Barbara Sue Chapman and a brother, Eddie Roland.
She was a member of the Cartersville Church of Christ. Patricia was a happy person who found good in everyone, loved life to the fullest and most of all loved her family.
Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Rhonda and Billy Joe Tant, Sandy and Phillip Raines; her son and daughter-in-law, Wesley and Lucia Slagle; her grandchildren, Amber and Michael Tant, Marhonda Cunningham, Chris and Amber Heath, Becky and Blake Duck, Logan Slagle, and Scarlett Slagle; her great-grandchildren, Houston Tant, Chandler Tant, Bevin Cunningham, Hayden Heath, Piers Cunningham and Kayla Duck; two special nieces, Meleze Ragland and Melissa Tant; her brothers and sister-in-law, Harold and Mamie Jo Roland and Ronnie Roland; her sisters and brothers-in-law, Sarah and Randall Tant, Mattie Lou Bunch, Jenny and J.D. Earwood, Geraldine and Harvey Tant and other extended family.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m., Saturday, June 26, 2010, at Cartersville Church of Christ with Mr. Bobby Gayton and Mr. Jack Burch officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens. Mrs. Slagle will be carried to the church on Saturday to lie-in-state from 2 p.m. until the funeral hour.
Pallbearers are asked to meet at the church on Saturday at 1:45p.m. an will include: Billy Joe Tant, Blake Duck, Jeff Cunningham, Chris Heath, Michael Tant and Jeffrey Tant. Phillip Raines, Harvey Tant, Randall Tant and Walter Chapman will serve as honorary pallbearers.
The family will receive friends at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 430 Cassville Road, Cartersville from 4 to 9 p.m. Friday.
