Cartersville Little Leaguers topple Cedartown

The Cartersville Little League 10- to 11-year-old team scored two-thirds of the runs in a 20-10 win over host Cedartown on Sunday in the Georgia District 1 tournament.

Spencer Dickey had four hits, including two home runs, to lead Cartersville in its 10-run win. Blake Adams, Brandon Allen and Thomas Jolly each had three hits; Jake Hacker and Rodrick Winburn had two hits apiece; and Bailey Campbell and Robbie Earick both had one hit.

Campbell, Jolly, Allen and Dickey pitched for Cartersville.

In other action at Cedartown, the Cartersville Little League 11/12 "A" team also defeated Cedartown, 14-0, on Sunday. Bret Phinney led Cartersville with three hits, including a double and a home run; Trenton Frazier had two hits and a double; Jacob Woods and Hayden Siniard had two hits apiece; and Boo Reed, Brandon Reaves, Joseph Jolly and Harrison Osborn all had one hit.

Phinney pitched three innings with three strikeouts, two walks and no hits, and Jolly pitched one inning with two hits and one strikeout.
