A woman was injured Tuesday afternoon during a strong-arm robbery of a North Tennessee Street business.

The incident occurred at Ludy B's Thrift Center, 617 N. Tennessee St. According to Cartersville Police Capt. Michael Stewart, three black men, all in their 20s, entered the store with one asking the female clerk to give up the money from the cash drawer. When the drawer would not open, one of the men came around the counter, pushed the clerk and opened the drawer, obtaining an undetermined amount of money.

"I think when he pushed her, there was some type of figurine or something on a counter, and she bumped the shelf and it fell and hit her on the head," Stewart said. "I don't think she was seriously injured during the incident."

Cartersville police and fire departments, as well as Bartow EMS, responded to the incident.

Stewart Tuesday afternoon said no weapons were involved in the robbery, and the three men did not wear any toboggans or any other items that would have covered their faces. No further description of the men was available.

A phone call to the business Tuesday afternoon was not returned by press time.

More information on the incident is expected to be released today, Stewart said.
