The two teams opened play in the series Tuesday night with Cartersville recording an easy 10-0 victory.
The first team to win two games will wear the championship mantle. The two teams squared off Wednesday night in game two of the series. A third game, if necessary, wold be played tonight.
In the 11/12B tournament, Cartersville and Rockmart are tied with 2-2 records as each tries to become the first to win three games in their series.
Rockmart won their game Tuesday, defeating Cartersville 14-12.
In the 11/12A game Tuesday, Cartersville defeated Rockmart 14-4.
In Little League Georgia District 1, Cartersville was able to finish Tuesday what it had started Monday against Rockmart. Cartersville took the contest by a 14-4 margin.
The game had been suspended on Monday due to inclement weather.
Contributing offensively for Cartersville were Dustin Hanks, two hits with a home run; Trenton Frazier, two hits with a home run; Brandon Reaves, one hit; Boo Reed, two hits with a double; Bret Phinney, two hits with a home run; Grant Tidwell, two hits with a double; Jacob Woods, one hit.
Pitching for Cartersville were Hayden Siniard, who allowed four hits, four walks and two strikeouts in three innings of work; and Boo Reed, one inning, one hit, two walks and one strikeout.
