The games won included, in the 9-year-old category, a 12-11 victory by Cartersville over Rockmart; in the 9 to 10A category, an 8-7 victory by Cartersville over Rockmart; in the 10-11 category, a 14-8 Cartersville defeat of Cedartown; in 11-12A, a 11-1 Cartersville beating of Cedartown; in 11-12B, a 14-11 Cartersville defeat of Rockmart; and in the junior league, a 35-2 Cartersville whipping of Rockmart.
11- to 12-year-olds
In the Little League Georgia District 1, 11 to 12-Year-Old Baseball A-Team Tournament, Cartersville was led in its 11-1 whipping of Cedartown by Jacob Woods' two homeruns and a third hit.
Also contributing offensively were Parker Tidwell, one hit; Trenton Frazier, two hits, including a home run; Boo Reed, three hits, including two doubles; Bret Phinney, one hit; Hayden Siniard, one hit; Grant Tidwel, three hits; Dustin Hanks, two doubles; and Joe Jolly, one hit.
Pitching for Cartersville were Woods, who threw three innings, struck out six and allowed no earned runs; Frazier, one inning, three strikeouts, no runs; Hanks, one inning, no runs.
10- to 11-year-olds
In Little League Georgia District 1's 10 to 11-year-old baseball tournament on Monday, Cartersville defeated Rockmart 15-9.
Pacing Cartersville with three hits was Thomas Jolly; and two hits, Blake Adams, Brandon Allen, Robbie Earick, Lucas Lane and Rodrick Winburn; one hit, Bailey Campbell, Noah Daniel and Spencer Dickey.
Pitching for Cartersville were Allen, four strike outs; Winburn, two strike outs; Thomas Watkins, one strike out; Dickey, one strike out; and Daniel.
On Wednesday, Cartersville defeated Cedartown 14-8.
Winburn had three hits for Cartersville, including a home run. Contributing two hits were Campbell, Earick and Jolly. Adams, Jake Hacker and Watkins chipped in one hit each. Pitchers were Hacker, with two strike outs; Jolly, one strike out; Adams, one strike out; and Dickey and Daniel.
