Prescott Lamar Stover, 87, of Benham Circle, Cartersville, died Sunday, July 4, 2010.

Mr. Stover was born Nov. 20, 1922, the son of John William and Rachel Arizona Kimmons-Stover, was retired from Goodyear Mills and a was member of Heritage Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his sisters, Bernice Stover, Doris Camp, Virginia Gibson and Bonita Stiles; and a brother, Eugene Stover.

Surviving are his wife, Christine G. Stover of Cartersville; daughter and son-in-law, Sandra and Bill Williams of Versailles, Ky.; his son and daughter-in-law, Mitchell and Kendall Stover of Greenwood, Minn.; grandchildren, Tonya Farmer and her husband Michael, Michael Ayers and his wife Audrey, Camille Stover, Celeste Hill and her husband Brian; great-grandchildren, Jacob Farmer, Sam Farmer, Elliott Stover, Evelyn Stover; sister and brother-in-law, Mable and James Winthrow of Marietta; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 7, at 11 a.m. at Heritage Baptist Church with Rev. Jeff Wright officiating. Burial will follow at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Pleasant Valley Baptist Church Cemetery in Ellijay with Rev. Coy Richards officiating.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday evening from 7 to 9 p.m.

Grandsons and nephews will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Disciples Sunday School Class.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Heritage Baptist Church Building Fund.
