Juvenile assaulted at Cartersville Walmart

A Cartersville juvenile was assaulted by two strangers at the Cartersville Walmart Supercenter on Friday.

According to a report filed with the Bartow County Sheriff's Office, the victim was shopping in the groceries when he heard verbal assaults coming from an adult male. After turning to ignore the suspect, he was approached by the man and a woman when they began yelling profanities at the victim.

The woman then punched the juvenile in the stomach followed by punches from the man to the face and stomach. The juvenile stated he had no idea who either subject was or why they were assaulting him.

All three were asked by Walmart employees to leave the store.

Cartersville burglary results in car theft

A residence on Cline Smith Road was burglarized Friday. Occupants returned home Friday night to find the home had been entered and items were removed.

Included in the stolen property was a 1995 GMC Safari valued at $2,500. Other items included a purse and food, some of which were found in the yard.

The total estimated value of stolen property was $3,730.

Wrecks

Cartersville police reported working seven motor vehicle accidents Thursday and Friday with one injury. The victim complained of a tingling sensation in his back but refused medical treatment at the scene.

The Georgia State Patrol reported working six accidents with six non-life threatening injuries in the 48 hours preceding Saturday at 6 p.m.

Fires

Bartow County and Cartersville fire departments reported working no fires in the 48 hours preceding Saturday at 6 p.m.
