The Bartow County Junior League Softball All Stars booked their place at the Southeast Regional Tournament by winning the Georgia state title in Columbus.

Bartow completed a perfect tournament by defeating Warner Robins American, 6-2, on Tuesday night.

Bartow started the scoring by pushing a run across in the top of the first inning. Courtney Bailey singled and Kelsey Holloway doubled, moving Bailey to third. Bethany Ballard drove in Bailey with a ground out to the short stop, giving the Bartow team a 1-0 lead.

Warner Robins evened things up in the bottom of the first by getting two hits off starting pitcher Taylor Weeks.

Bartow was held scoreless in the second and third, despite leaving runners in scoring position in each inning.

Warner Robins grabbed a one-run lead, going up 2-1, in the bottom of the third off a three-base error. Weeks buckled down and got the outs when needed, keeping the Warner Robins lead from growing.

Playing from behind for the first time during the tournament, Bartow dealt the killing blow in the top of the fourth by pushing three runs across the plate. Allison Story led off with a single and advanced to second on a passed ball. Weeks drew a walk, Cassidy Howren singled to load the bases. Ashlynn Russell then drove in both Story and Weeks with a huge single. Howren was put out at the plate off a fielders' choice from Jordan Cantrell, while Russell advanced to third on the play. Bailey Roberts then drove Russell in with a groundout to first, giving Bartow a 4-2 lead.

Bartow finished scoring in the top of the fifth with two unearned runs as both Story and Weeks scored on a big throwing error by Warner Robins' catcher.

Weeks shut down Warner Robins in the fourth and fifth before giving way to Bailey in the sixth. Bailey was dominant, allowing two hits in two innings of work while earning the save.

Weeks got the win on the mound, allowing two runs on two hits. She struck out two and walked two.

Bailey, Story and Weeks each had two hits while Russell's two huge RBIs led Bartow offensively.

Bartow next plays in the Southeast Regional Junior League tournament July 31- August 4 in Fort Myers, Fla., with a shot at going to the World Series in Kirkland, Wash., at stake.
