Family Violence Unit arrests Emerson officer

Bartow County Sheriff's Office authorities confirmed late Wednesday that an Emerson Police Department lieutenant was arrested around 3:30 p.m. Lt. Coleman Todd Heath was charged with false report of a crime and could face additional counts.

Sgt. Jonathan Rogers, BCSO public information officer, said an investigator in the department's Family Violence Unit made the arrest.

EPD Police Chief Stan Bradley did not immediately return a call seeking comment.
