According to traffic on the police scanner, witnesses reported a woman's black Honda Civic overturned, ejecting the woman before coming to rest on top of her. At 4:36 p.m., authorities reported on the police scanner a confirmation of the death.

Witness: Man 'went crazy' with knife

The alleged victim in a Friday family violence incident reported another man "jumped up and came at him with the knife in his right hand," according to a Bartow County Sheriff's Office incident report.

Deputies were called to the home at 5771 Glade Road in Acworth around 10:30 p.m. and say Charles Michael Ray, 31, of that address, came out of the front door with the knife in his hand.

The alleged victim said Ray lifted the hand containing the knife and came down, but hit the top of the alleged victim's shoulder with his forearm. Ray was arrested and charged with simple assault under the Family Violence Act.
