According to the GSP, Victoria Brittany Quinn, 19, of Cartersville lost control of her Honda Civic on Griffin Road just before Aspen Drive. The vehicle left the roadway and rolled over, ejecting Quinn, who was trapped under the car.
GSP could not say if speed was a factor in the accident, which happened about 4:30 p.m. Saturday.
Also Saturday, the Georgia State Patrol, along with Calhoun police, and Bartow and Gordon county sheriff's deputies were involved in a police chase just after 9:30 p.m.
According to the BCSO report, deputies about 5 p.m. were called to a Snow Springs Road, Adairsville, home where a man said his son may have taken his 2003 Ford Explorer Sport Trac. The man said his son, Dwayne Jarrett, had just been released from jail.
About 6:30 p.m. deputies were advised two firearms were also missing from the home.
Beginning in Gordon County, Jarrett led authorities on a pursuit that lasted about 30 minutes and ended on Snow Springs Road. During the chase, a Calhoun police officer wrecked along Snow Springs Road before deploying his stop sticks and flattening two tires on the pursued vehicle. GSP then executed the P.I.T. maneuver on the vehicle Jarrett was driving, disabling it.
He was apprehended and arrested by Gordon County Sheriff's deputies and transported to the Gordon County jail. A silver handgun was recovered from the vehicle.
