The incident occurred at Stone Haven Falls apartments around 9 p.m. and the complainant said he suffered a dislocated shoulder. The disagreement reportedly began when a man said the ball the group was throwing "had better not hit his vehicle," and allegedly made a threat.
A short time later and after additional words were exchanged, the man returned with others and the alleged victim was struck in the face. He was then thrown to the ground and kicked.
The alleged victim went to the hospital for treatment, but said he decided to report the incident after speaking with his father. The incident report indicates the case was not assigned to a BCSO investigator.
Stolen gun recovered after more than 12 years
A man who wanted to ensure the gun he had bought was "clean" led police to recover a firearm reported stolen more than 12 years ago.
According to the BCSO incident report, the Jim Drive resident requested deputies check the shotgun's serial number, and results showed the gun was reported stolen through Cartersville Police Department in December 1997.
An investigator recovered the gun. The man who had the gun said he got it from another man, but that man could not remember where he had gotten the gun.
Accidents and injuries
Georgia State Patrol troopers responded to four accidents with two injuries in the 24 hours preceding 5 p.m. Wednesday.
Cartersville police reported four Wednesday accidents with one injury but the motorist was not taken to the hospital.
