Two children were airlifted late Wednesday morning after being burned by hot grease.

Bartow County Fire Department personnel said about 12:15 p.m. that the children were 4 and 5 years old. No further information was provided at that time, including how and where the incident occurred or the extent of the victim's injuries.

A caller to The Daily Tribune said she believed one child was taken to Children's Healthcare of Atlanta.

According to scanner traffic, one child suffered second-degree burns to the lower extremities and the other had first-degree burns on one leg.
