Ms. Violet Betty Folsom, 89, of Rydal died Sunday, Aug. 8, 2010, at her residence.

Born Sept. 24, 1920, in Lawrenceville, she was the daughter of the late James H. Jenkins and the late Mary David Smith Jenkins. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Connie Folsom; four brothers; and three sisters.

Violet was a member of Smyrna Second Baptist and she also was a member of the Georgia Power Ambassador Club. She retired from Macy's where she was a Retail Sales Associate.

Survivors include her daughter, Carol Keller; her son, William E. Humphries; nine grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren; her sisters and brother-in-law, Charlotte Crawford of Toccoa, Jane and Cecil Dutton of Austell; and her brother Frank Jenkins of Muscadine, Ala.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 11, in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services with Rev. Cecil Dutton officiating. Burial will follow at Mount Harmony Memorial Gardens in Mabelton.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 430 Cassville Road, Cartersville.
