According to the Cartersville police report, the victim told police he was walking westbound along Johnson Street near Gilmer Street about 1:30 a.m. when an unknown black male approached walking east.
The man said when the suspect came within a few feet he struck the victim with a closed fist below the right eye, leaving a contusion about an inch long on the right cheekbone. According to the victim, the suspect demanded the victim "gimme all your money." The man said he handed over $525 and told the suspect to "take it all."
The suspect, described as a black male, 5 foot 10 inches to 6 foot, weighing 180 to 200 pounds with gold teeth, fled west toward Gilmer Street.
Man flees police, later caught
Saturday morning Cartersville police attempted to stop a Chevy S10 after a check returned expired tags, no insurance and warrants for the truck's owner.
According to the police report, about 8:30 a.m. an officer attempted to stop the truck along Old Tennessee Road Northeast when the driver fled on foot.
The officer lost sight of the man -- Danny Burke Taylor, 38, of Highway 411, Cartersville -- after he jumped a ditch and entered the woodline parallel to Highway 411. Another officer later located Taylor near a church in the area.
The owner of the vehicle consented to a search of the vehicle which returned a glass pipe containing suspected methamphetamine. The woman denied it was hers, saying it belonged to Taylor.
Taylor was arrested and charged with possession of meth, possession of a drug-related object, obstruction, driving while license suspended, no insurance and obstructed tag.
Man arrested after disturbing the peace
Bartow County Sheriff's deputies were called Saturday morning just after 7 a.m. to a report of disorderly conduct.
The complainant said Jacob Doran, 31, of 26 Lantern Circle, Cartersville, had been sitting in the driveway for over an hour revving the engine so loud he blew the engine and was cursing.
The deputy attempted to talk to Doran who began cursing and yelling before fleeing into the residence and locking himself inside.
Doran was eventually arrested and charged with disorderly conduct.

* Deputies were called to New Frontier, 151 Firetower Road, in reference to subjects fighting just after midnight Sunday. According to the report, about 200 people were in the parking lot with several subjects fighting. All fighting parties fled from the area and several subjects told deputies they did not know who was fighting. The host of the party was unaware of the altercation.
* About 1 a.m. Sunday, a man told deputies a white Ford F-150 stopped in the middle of Mac Johnson Road and a white man got out of the passenger side with a shotgun. The victim, a Hispanic male, said the subject racked the shotgun and pointed it at him before driving off.
