Mr. Brown was born Feb. 4, 1942, in Bibb County, a son of the late Charles Brown and Lillie Meeks Brown.
He was a member of the Pine Log United Methodist Church and an Army veteran of the Vietnam Conflict. He was a retired pipe fitter.
Survivors include his wife of 36 years, Dolores Branch Brown; his children, Johnny Mack Brown and Jack Matthew Brown, both of Maryland, Donald Edward Wright of Ranger and Jody Marie Cole of Maryland; six grandchildren; and several nieces and a nephew.
Graveside services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 26, from the Pine Log United Methodist Cemetery with Rev. Jeffery Grubbs officiating.
The family received friends at the funeral home Wednesday.
