He was born in Bartow County, March 4, 1953, son of Henry and Willie Paul White Richard. Mr. Richard had faithfully attended Kaiger' s Chapel (at Allen Rogers insistence!) where he later became the Sunday school teacher. He had been employed by Alden Industries of Calhoun and later worked at Mohawk Industries for a combined thirty-two years of service. Mr. Richard is preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Willie Richard, Jr.; and a sister, Brenda Ellis.
He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife, Shirley Richard of Adairsville, to whom he was united in Holy matrimony in 1999; 2 sons and a daughter-in-law, Nathaniel A. Richard of Adairsville, and Lewis and Faye Benham of Waycross; a daughter Falicha Benham of Adairsville; a sister Connie Bailey of Adairsville; 4 brothers Wayne, Harold, and Clarence Richard, all of Adairsville and Clayborne Sellers of Cartersville; a sister-in-law, Mary L. Hayes of Adairsville; a special Godsister, Rev. Louise Young Harris; 7 aunts, Georgia Margaret White, Hazel Todd of Detroit, MI, Thelma Brown of Dallas, TX, Ruthele Fayson of Cassville, Ola Maye Richard, Betty Richards, and Sammie Lee Richard of Atlanta. 6 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren; special friends, Johnny Pritchett, Jerry Henderson, Harold Finley, Larry Scott, and Jerry Lewis. Nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be held Sunday at 3:00p.m., at the Body Of Christ Church in Adairsville, with Rev. Leonard Daniels officiating. Pallbearers will be Darrell Ellis, Dwight Ellis, Leroy Patterson, James Paul Harris, Bobby J. Owens and Robbie Henderson, while honorary pallbearers Jerry Henderson and Jerry Lewis. Flower Ladies will include Pauline Reese, Debbie Pullum, Tina Reynolds, Natalie Ellis, Dorothy Wilkey, and Gloria Wilkey. Honorary Flower Ladies will be Marilyn Wilson and Genise Printup. Interment will follow in Poplar Springs Cemetery in Adairsville.
