Board members awarded the bid for cafeteria serving line upgrades at Cartersville Middle School to Citisco Food Service Equipment of Gainesville. The price tag of $195,497 will be paid for by School Nutrition funds.
The meeting also saw the recognition of 21 Cartersville High students for their achievement on 2010 Advanced Placement exams. The students each earned perfect "5" scores on one of several AP exams, which are scored on a scale of 1 to 5; those who score at least a 3 may be eligible for college credit or advanced placement in college courses.
In 2010, 70 percent of Cartersville High students who took AP exams scored 3 or higher on their tests.
See the School Page in Sunday's edition of The Daily Tribune News for a list of those recognized Monday.
The board's next scheduled meeting is set for Thursday, Oct. 7, at 6 p.m. Board members will hold both their monthly work session and business session that night due to the district's fall break, which will give students and staff days off the next day and Monday, Oct. 11. Students also will be off Tuesday, Oct. 12, which will serve as a teacher inservice day.
